Saudi Arabia: Over 11,000 Government Employees Exit in Q1 2024
Riyadh, Saudi Arabia: In the first quarter of 2024, more than 11,000 government employees in Saudi Arabia have left their jobs, as revealed by recently released statistics from the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development. The data specifies that 9,400 men and 2,100 women exited their positions during this timeframe.
The reasons for departure are categorized into early retirement, resignations, cancellations, health disabilities, deaths, reaching retirement age, and other unspecified factors.
The majority of those who left were Saudi nationals, alongside a notable number of employees from Syria, Pakistan, Egypt, and the Philippines.
The highest number of departures was recorded in major organizations such as the Ministries of Education and Health. Other sectors affected include regional emirates, secretariats, the Ministries of Trade, Water, and Media, as well as universities.
The cities of Riyadh, Jeddah, and Sharqiya reported the most significant number of employees leaving, encompassing both male and female staff members.
