Larsen & Toubro (L&T), the Indian multinational conglomerate, has secured major transmission projects valued at ₹15,000 crore in Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The engineering and construction giant announced that the substantial contracts augment its presence within the Middle Eastern market, further underscoring its commitment to expanding its global footprint.

The awarded projects include the establishment of high-voltage power transmission lines and related infrastructure, critical for enhancing the power distribution networks in the respective regions. L&T’s expertise in engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) has been pivotal in securing these prestigious projects, the company said.

Mr. S.N. Subrahmanyan, CEO and Managing Director of Larsen & Toubro, commented on the significant win, noting that it reinforces L&T’s strategic vision and operational capabilities. “These projects are a testament to our commitment to delivering top-notch solutions in the global power transmission sector. We are proud to contribute to the infrastructure development of Saudi Arabia and UAE,” he stated.

The contracts entail comprehensive responsibilities, ranging from design and development to commissioning, ensuring that the power transmission systems meet stringent international standards. These initiatives are anticipated to play a crucial role in supporting the burgeoning energy demands and economic growth trajectories of both nations.

In addition to bolstering their project portfolio, these new ventures are set to diversify and enhance L&T’s revenue streams, thereby fortifying their market position amid rising global competition in the EPC sector.
