In a fervent address during an open session of the Iranian parliament on Tuesday, Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf condemned Israel’s recent military actions in Lebanon, labeling them as "crimes against the Lebanese nation." He extended his solidarity to Lebanon, lamenting the severe loss of life caused by what he described as "terrorist acts" by the Zionist regime.

Ghalibaf did not mince words, branding Israel as the "most brutal criminal in the world" for its reported acts of genocide in Gaza and its targeted killings of civilians, including children. He criticized the international community’s response, singling out the United States for its support of Israel. "These criminals receive a standing ovation in the U.S. Congress, in front of the eyes of the world, mocking all human values," he said, calling for global solidarity against Israeli actions.

His remarks came on a devastating day for Lebanon. According to an Al Jazeera report, at least 492 people, including 35 children, were killed in a series of Israeli airstrikes on the same day. The attacks have left more than 1,600 wounded, deepening an already severe humanitarian crisis.

The recent violence follows a pattern of escalating aggression. A week prior, Israeli strikes targeted multiple areas in Lebanon, causing thousands of injuries and a significant number of fatalities. The frequency and intensity of these assaults have propelled a dire situation, sparking widespread calls for an end to the violence.

Ghalibaf emphasized that the Zionist regime was "doomed to annihilation" and urged global supporters of justice to rise against Israeli crimes in Gaza and Lebanon. He stressed that those responsible for these heinous acts would eventually face justice.

The unfolding crisis highlights the urgent need for international intervention. As civilian casualties mount and infrastructure crumbles, the global community is increasingly vocal in its demand for a cessation of hostilities. However, strong geopolitical alliances and political interests continue to complicate the path to peace.
