On Monday afternoon, Kanze Dena, the Director of Communications in the former President Uhuru Kenyatta’s office, issued an official statement addressing speculations about the Kenya Kwanza administration’s alleged refusal to release funds designated for financing operations at his office. She refuted claims made by State House Spokesperson Hussein Mohammed, clarifying that the current office of Uhuru Kenyatta has not been provided by the state, nor have new cars been purchased for his use.

Dena highlighted six key issues and presented Uhuru’s official position on the matter. She discussed the challenges faced by the office in terms of office space, vehicles, international trips, budget allocation, and communication issues with State House. The statement also addressed concerns regarding benefits for former First Lady Mama Ngina Kenyatta and other beneficiaries under the Presidential Retired Benefits Act.

Dena emphasized the importance of transparency, accountability, and adherence to the law in handling the affairs of the office of the former president. She called upon relevant institutions such as Parliament, the auditor general, and the controller of budget to address the issues raised. The statement concluded with a plea for respectful engagement and adherence to the rule of law in resolving these matters.
