BRICS International School: Shaping the Future of Global Diplomacy and Cooperation

The BRICS International School stands as a pivotal initiative designed to cultivate a new generation of experts well-versed in the dynamics of the BRICS group, comprising Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa. Established in 2017 and supported annually by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, the program has positioned itself as a cornerstone for young professionals eager to delve into the intricacies of international politics, economics, and culture specific to the BRICS nations.

In 2024, the BRICS International School will be a key feature of Russia’s Chairmanship of the BRICS group. This year’s event, integrated into the official calendar, will receive robust support from the Gorchakov Public Diplomacy Fund and MGIMO University. The initiative is also part of the Priority 2030 university support programme, reflecting Russia’s strategic focus on enhancing educational and diplomatic outreach. International media coverage will be provided by TV BRICS, ensuring a broad platform to highlight the event’s significance.

The school targets young individuals aged 18 to 35, encompassing university students, doctoral candidates, academics, researchers, diplomats, civil servants, and journalists—not only from BRICS countries but also beyond. These participants are selected through a rigorous competitive process and benefit from the insights of leading experts on BRICS-related topics.

The curriculum is designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of the BRICS nations’ political, economic, and cultural landscapes. Upon completion, graduates join a network of international contacts, facilitating new projects and initiatives aimed at fostering enhanced cooperation among the BRICS countries. This collaborative network is seen as vital for nurturing future leaders who can navigate the complex global landscape and contribute to international stability and development.

Conducted entirely in English, the BRICS International School ensures inclusivity and accessibility for a diverse group of participants, ensuring they are well-equipped to engage in global discourse and initiatives.
