Ethiopia Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed Kicks Off Green Legacy Planting Cycle in South Wollo

Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed of Ethiopia has officially launched the Green Legacy planting cycle for this year in Hayk City, located in South Wollo of the Amhara Region. This initiative aims at not only greening the country but also revitalizing various sectors of the economy.

During his visit, Prime Minister Abiy also took the time to tour different development projects in and around Dessie City. One of the key sites he visited was the Logo Hayk project, which is part of the Dine for the Nation project initiated by the Prime Minister. The goal of this project is to transform Wollo and its surrounding areas into a tourist destination.

Taking to social media, Prime Minister Abiy expressed his optimism about the ongoing works in the region, stating, “During our visit, we observed many impressive works being carried out everywhere. There is no doubt that if we work together, we will hand over a prosperous Ethiopia to our children.”

Accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister Temesgen Tiruneh, Prime Minister Abiy’s visit to Dessie marks a significant step towards achieving the goals set forth by these development projects. With a focus on environmental sustainability and economic growth, the Green Legacy initiative is a testament to the government’s commitment to creating a better future for all Ethiopians.
