Addis Ababa, June 18, 2024 (Addis Walta) – June 19 marks a significant day in the history of the Workers’ Party of Korea (WPK) as Chairman Kim Jong Il began his work at the Central Committee. This day holds a special place alongside October 10, the foundation day of the WPK.

In Juche 53 (1964), Kim Jong Il embarked on his work at the Central Committee and even spent his first night in the office. The following day, he gathered with officials in the garden at dawn. Observing the WPK flag flying proudly above the building, Kim Jong Il emphasized the flag’s significance in reflecting the revolutionary activities of President Kim Il Sung. He expressed his lifelong dedication to developing the WPK into a party that would endure forever.

Kim Jong Il’s efforts to mold the WPK into an ever-victorious revolutionary party began that day. Through his guidance and the formulation of Kimilsungism, he established the WPK as a powerful and unified party under the leadership of the leader.

The decades under Kim Jong Il’s leadership are described as a heroic epic, showcasing his immortal contributions to the party, revolution, country, and people. June 19 stands as a day of glory in WPK history due to the esteemed Comrade Kim Jong Un’s commitment to preserving the ideas and leadership legacy of Kim Jong Il for future generations.
