Jiji, Africa’s premier classified platform, has officially launched its Premium Services in Ethiopia, a country with a burgeoning eCommerce sector. This move signifies a significant step in Jiji’s expansion strategy as it gears up to support Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in Ethiopia, tapping into the country’s vast eCommerce potential.

The Premium Services offered by Jiji are tailored promotional tools and features designed to help businesses advertise their products in specific categories such as Property, Cars, and Others. These services include various Boost Packages like Basic, VIP, Diamond, and Enterprise, each uniquely crafted to align with individual business objectives. Among the standout features is “Pro Sales,” a promotional feature that enables sellers to pay for authentic clicks and manage their advertising budget effectively. Users can customize bids and set daily budgets to control the size of their promotions and only pay for tangible results.

Ethiopia’s eCommerce market is on a growth trajectory, with market statistics projecting revenues to soar to $465.70 million USD by 2024 and reach a market volume of US$869.50 million by 2029. The country is expected to have 3 million users by 2029, with an average revenue per user (ARPU) of $261 USD. This presents a golden opportunity for business owners to showcase their products and services to a growing user base, ultimately boosting their sales and revenue. With the introduction of Jiji’s Premium Services and innovative features, the platform is well-positioned to drive the growth of local businesses in Ethiopia’s evolving eCommerce landscape.

Anton Volianskyi, Co-Founder, and CEO of Jiji, emphasized the strategic significance of this launch in the Ethiopian market, stating, “We’re thrilled to introduce Jiji Premium Services to Ethiopia, a country known for its vibrant entrepreneurial spirit. Our objective is to foster economic growth by enabling individuals and businesses to connect with new customers, drive commerce, and expand their enterprises. Additionally, we aim to enhance the circulation of used goods in Ethiopia, contributing to sustainable living in the country.”

In light of the economic lessons learned during the pandemic, there is a growing imperative to digitize systems and processes to boost commerce and stimulate economic growth. Jiji has been championing this cause across key African markets like Nigeria and Kenya, boasting over 12 million monthly unique visits and a substantial business presence on its platform. By entering the Ethiopian market, Jiji is furthering its mission of catalyzing economic growth through digital transformation, with a focus on enhancing access to goods and services, promoting financial inclusion, and bolstering Ethiopia’s eCommerce ecosystem.

With a proven track record of success, Jiji has previously launched its Premium Services in major African markets such as Nigeria, Ghana, and Kenya. Including Ethiopia in its expansion strategy aligns with its broader ambition of consolidating its leadership in the African classified apps market and ranking among the world’s top 5 classified platforms by traffic by 2025.

Anton Volianskyi highlighted the significant impact of Jiji’s Premium Services on businesses, with over 250,000 leveraging the promotional tools to boost visibility, sales, and revenue. This success demonstrates the platform’s capacity to drive growth and development for SMEs in the Ethiopian market. Leveraging their 12 million monthly unique visits and 4 million+ active ads, Jiji stands out as a leading classified platform in key markets like Nigeria, Kenya, and Ghana.

In line with their commitment to success in Ethiopia, Jiji is dedicated to offering well-tailored promotional services and features that cater to the specific needs of users. The platform is steadfast in contributing to the broader economic advancement of the country, evidenced by its growing user base, active sellers, and top rankings in categories like cars and real estate.

As a community-centric brand, Jiji places a strong emphasis on collaboration with local businesses, entrepreneurs, and stakeholders in the Ethiopian SME and eCommerce sector. This partnership approach ensures that Jiji’s Premium Services are optimized to meet the unique requirements of the Ethiopian market, fostering engagement and growth within the local business community.
