As G Kishan Reddy assumed office as the coal and mines minister, he emphasized the necessity for India to prioritize increasing domestic production of coal while decreasing imports. This strategic move is vital to reducing the country’s dependence on foreign resources and ensuring self-sufficiency in meeting its energy needs.

Reflecting on the past, Reddy mentioned a significant coal shortage that occurred a decade ago, leading to an electricity deficiency in the country. Over the years, India has made notable progress in enhancing power availability, indicating the effectiveness of strategic planning and policy implementation in addressing critical issues like energy security.

The coal ministry and mines ministry play crucial roles in advancing India’s industrial growth and infrastructure development. Reddy expressed his commitment to leading both ministries with determination, dedication, discipline, and devotion over the next five years. By fostering a unified team approach, he aims to optimize the potential of these sectors and drive sustainable progress.

Reddy’s journey in politics traces back to his humble beginnings as the son of middle-class farmers in Telangana. Through hard work and perseverance, he rose through the ranks of the BJP, holding key roles at the state and national levels. His extensive experience in governance, coupled with a strong grassroots connect, positions him well to steer the coal and mines ministries towards achieving transformative outcomes.

With Satish Chandra Dubey, a respected Brahmin leader from Bihar, assuming the role of Minister of State for Coal and Mines Ministries, the government is poised to leverage diverse expertise and regional insights in advancing the nation’s resource management agenda. This collaborative approach underscores the government’s commitment to fostering inclusive growth and harnessing India’s rich natural resources for the benefit of all citizens.
