BRICS Nations Forge Ahead in High-Tech Collaboration at Archipelago 2024 Event

The Archipelago 2024 project-educational event, held from July 8 to 21 on the island of Sakhalin, serves as a testament to the deepening cooperation among BRICS nations (Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa) in the realm of high technology and knowledge exchange. The event, which emphasizes the application of cutting-edge technologies for economic advancement and international sustainability, features TV BRICS as its international media partner.

    Pioneers of Technological Integration

Dmitry Devitt, the Director of the Centre for UAS at Innopolis University, highlighted the transformative power of modern technologies. "With the help of modern technologies, it has already been possible to automate many processes," Devitt remarked. He compared the ongoing quest for optimal production solutions to a modern-day "Holy Grail" for many nations.

Devitt underscored the importance of international collaboration in high-tech sectors, much like the alliances formed in space exploration. "Different countries develop technologies for their own markets or for certain tasks that are in demand only for them. Collaborations are needed to grow faster. After all, we are talking about improving the whole sphere of life and the quality of life everywhere," he noted.

    Climate Cooperation on the Horizon

Maksim Evdokimov, Director of Division Ecology at the Agency for Strategic Initiatives to Promote New Projects (ASI), emphasized the promising outlook for common climate projects among BRICS nations. In an exclusive comment to TV BRICS, Evdokimov detailed the ongoing negotiations and initiatives. "Together with the experts, we discussed that cooperation is already being established, including with India; negotiations are underway with China; and this year Russia is chairing BRICS. We see that the climate agenda is the basis for dialogue."

He highlighted that the collective effort of BRICS countries to stabilize natural ecosystems and absorb greenhouse gases opens avenues for joint projects focusing on climate motivation and adaptation. Current discussions revolve around building necessary infrastructure, synchronizing assessment methods, and drawing in investments.

Evdokimov expressed optimism that Russia’s chairmanship and future collaborations would yield actionable roadmaps, joint programmes, and significant infrastructure developments in the climate sector.

    A Glimpse into the Future

The Archipelago 2024 event sets ambitious goals for Russia’s scientific and technological evolution. The programme agenda includes the promotion of unmanned aviation, advancements in energy transition, hydrogen technologies, artificial intelligence, and biotechnology. Additionally, participants are delving into the University 4.0 concept, envisioning the digital university of the future.

This concerted effort to pool expertise and innovative solutions among BRICS nations signifies a pivotal stride towards not only technological but also ecological progress on a global scale.
