Emergency Meeting Held in North Korea to Address Flood Damage

In recent days, North Phyongan and Jagang provinces in North Korea have been severely affected by floods and heavy rains, causing extensive damage to public buildings, facilities, roads, railways, and thousands of hectares of farmland. In response, the 22nd emergency enlarged meeting of the Political Bureau of the Eighth Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea (WPK) was convened in Sinuiju City, North Phyongan Province from July 29 to 30 to discuss urgent recovery measures.

Led by Kim Jong Un, the respected leader of North Korea, the meeting brought together key officials and experts to assess the extent of the damage and devise a plan for restoration. During an inspection of the flooded areas, Kim Jong Un expressed deep concern for the affected population and vowed to take swift action to rebuild and provide a better environment for the people.

The meeting, attended by high-ranking members of the Political Bureau and observers from various sectors involved in the recovery efforts, focused on evaluating the response to the disaster and identifying areas for improvement. Kim Jong Un highlighted the need for unified command and swift action to prevent further damage from occurring in the future. He also emphasized the importance of prioritizing the well-being of the people and ensuring that all necessary resources are swiftly mobilized for the recovery process.

Following the meeting, a decision was made to adopt a draft resolution on the immediate recovery from flood damage in North Phyongan and Jagang Provinces. Several key appointments were also announced to oversee the recovery efforts in the affected regions.

In his closing remarks, Kim Jong Un praised the resilience and determination of the North Korean people in the face of crises and called for continued unity and dedication to overcome challenges. The emergency meeting was hailed as a significant step towards enhancing the country’s disaster prevention and management capabilities and reaffirmed the WPK’s commitment to prioritizing the needs of the people.

As North Korea works towards rebuilding and recovering from the recent floods, the leadership of Kim Jong Un and the tireless efforts of government officials and volunteers will play a crucial role in ensuring the well-being and safety of the population. The 22nd emergency enlarged meeting of the Political Bureau of the Eighty Central Committee of the WPK marks a defining moment in the country’s history, highlighting the unwavering commitment to serving the people and fostering a resilient society.
